Move your way through levels of a variety of challenges when you play Bubble Shooter online for free! Bubble Shooter, an easy-to-learn classic game, requires you to use hand-eye coordination (with a touch of creative aiming) to achieve your goal, which is to pop bubbles off the board to progress to the next level.
This browser game is unique in that it is designed to promote a relaxing environment while you sharpen your skills. You can take the time to set up your shots properly while strategizing your next move, popping bubbles, clearing levels, and finding new ways to line up your shots.
How to Play Bubble Shooter
There are several versions of this popular arcade game. Any instructions given will pertain to the version here at A Clockwork Brain.
- The Cannon: The cannon is located at the middle-bottom of the screen. To aim the cannon, move your mouse from side to side for PC users. Sliding your finger works for tablets and smartphones.
- Before launching your bubble, use the targeting system (the line that moves in correspondence with the cannon) to line up your shot.
- One click from the left mouse button or a tap on other devices will launch the bubble to the place you’ve targeted.
- If your shot lands against two or more bubbles of the same color, they will pop, shifting any bubbles around it to move closer to the top.
- When you’ve cleared every bubble from the screen, you’ve won the level and will continue onward to play the next level up. The game will continue until you reach a point where you can no longer clear any bubbles.
Scoring
Scoring works as a combination of time bonuses and popped bubbles. Every popped bubble is worth 10 points, and each remaining second that remains on the clock after completion is worth 2 points each.
After completing a level, you are brought to a screen where you can either choose to advance to the next level, replay the one you just cleared, or play any previous level you’ve already cleared. This is available so you can replay levels to better your score.
Bubble Shooter Strategies
The Bubble Shooter game has windows of opportunity to clear a greater amount of bubbles with fewer shots when using some strategic maneuvers.
Ricochet Aiming
You can aim the bubble in your cannon to hit the easiest target, or you can get creative with it and ricochet your shot to reach behind obstructive bubbles that can clear three bubbles or more. If you’re lucky, you might cause the bubbles falling upward to fall into matches of three or more, popping those as well.
Moving your mouse to point the cannon at the wall will ricochet the guideline to let you know how that angle will affect the bubble’s trajectory.
Grouping
Targeting large groups of the same-colored bubbles is the best way to clear the area quickly and will reap a higher score through time bonuses.
Beware of Bubble Stacking
The fewer bubbles you stack without popping, the better off you’ll be. When you do stack bubbles that won’t pop anything, they can build up and make the board more difficult to clear.
Remain Patient
Experienced players can quickly fly through levels without batting an eye. They can do this because of all the time they’ve taken in the past, remaining patient, calm, and collected, choosing their shots wisely and learning to recognize openings and shots that aren’t obvious.
None of the above comes without remaining patient. Remain calm and work out clearing bubbles, forming strategies that work best for you before worrying about your time (as long as you finish the level before running out of time (of which there’s plenty to calmly clear the level). Speed and higher scores will come in time and through practice.
